Ted Bullpitt Eats at Sea la vie
When I was 20ish (nearly a long time ago) I was a HUGE fan of “Kingswood Country” (the very Aussie ocker Channel 7 show of the early/mid 1980’s). So much so that amongst friends and by my wife, I was known as “Ted”.
Well, Ted Bullpitt (aka Ross Higgins) (by his own admission is “getting on”) was at Sea la vie last Sunday morning having breakfast (he ate a Pancake with Berries) with his wife, daughter and son-in-law. I’ve seen them regularly actually. But it wasn’t till last Sunday that I recognised my “living legend” Ted Bullpitt.
I don’t know why it took so many times for me to recognise him (he is getting on you know). But what a really likeable bloke he is - as was his wife and family. But this time standing beside him looking at him side on - it clicked - this bloke is Ted Bullpitt. I said “it’s not is it” - the others just nodded their heads.
We chatted about Kingswood Country for a while and I told him I was a HUGE fan and had even been to Channel 7 one Saturday afternoon for an audience viewing/recording session. Ted (Ross) said that the lines in Kingswood Country were one of the hardest in his career to learn.
I went inside and announced “you won’t believe who is outside - Ted Bullpitt”. One non believing customer didn’t believe me. So, I marched the non believer (who is a regular) outside and asked Ted to give him a line - which he did in style- “Tickle me Grandmother”.
With that great line recited once more, Ted Bullpitt had made my day!!!!!!!!
