How Great it is to be Australian!
What a fantastic day it was on Australia Day 2007! Dee Why Beach was packed with people being proud of Australia.
Dee Why Beach hosted one of the Warringah Council Australia Day breakfasts. Many, many people were there enjoying the festivities and also the newly renovated Beach Reserve.
Sea la vie was also packed - all day! How good it was.
The weather was a little overcast in the morning which cleared to a glorious day with the top temperature being a pleasant 25.9C.
Whilst we were packed we also pumped out the takeaway coffees for those over on the beach. We served 8Kg of coffee on Australia Day. Knowing it would be busy, Anthony (on the right in the picture) and I (Adrian - on the left) worked the coffee machine together in the morning. The hats that Anthony and I are wearing came with the Sunday Telegraph. So we thought we’d do our bit to be patriotic! The hats received plenty of comments (all good)!
Whilst we worked the machine, the other Sea la vie staff, capably led by Matt and Tony, in the kitchen and front of house, undertook their roles brilliantly and the day went smoothly with all our guests enjoying being at Sea la vie.
I had to include this picture of one of our regulars - Jim! Jim dressed in green and gold I had to, I just had to include it on our Blog. Jim was on his way to golf, dressed ready for success - so he thought anyway. He later told me his attire didn’t help in any way, shape or form. He also mentioned that he did receive some comments as he progressed around the course (I’m surprised that anyone noticed, seeing what some wear around the golf course on any other normal day of the year).
Thanks to all who came to Dee Why Beach and particularly Sea la vie and helped us celebrate a great National day.
