A Lunch Time Storm (with hail)

Today (Sunday 15/8/2010) was amazing. Talk about 4 seasons in one day. We had it all 20 degrees (in winter), sun, cloud, sun, storm (with hail and temperature dropped to 13 degrees) and finally sun again. I have attached some photos of the hail, plus a view of the hail on Long Reef golf course (there were complaints that the golfers couldn’t find their balls – ha ha).

Scores on Doors – we scored an “A”

On Monday, 9th August 2010, Sea la vie became the first business in Warringah Council to receive an “A” rating for cleanliness and food hygiene.

Scores on Doors is a NSW Government initiative aimed at informing consumers about food safety compliance and provide consumers with more information about hygiene standards in food premises.

See The Manly Daily article (Saturday 14/8/2010) – click here

We as a team at Sea la vie are so proud.  Cleanliness and hygiene is something that we are all work towards everyday.

A great moment for Sea la vie.

All in a day’s work

As a restauranteur there is always lots to do (believe me). I added another bow yesterday (Sunday 28/2/10) – babysitting!

I loved every second!

A Wine Tasting (A perk of the job!)

Mel (our Executive Chef) and I (Adrian) went to the City this afternoon for a “New Zealand Wine in Glass” wine tasting. Someone has to do it! It may as well be us – it’s a perk, I guess.

Here is the video link to a snippet of our afternoon – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9zbiOHxv1g

P.S. Australian Sauvignon Blancs are better (more comlpex and fruity)- by miles!

Some of you will know that we had an addition to our family in August, 2009.  Yes, we welcomed Wally in to the Meredith family.

He is our second Jack Russell Terrier.  Our first, Terry, lived a health 16 years and a few months.  We miss Terry lots.

With Terry’s passing, Wally has bought us new found energy (and loads of it) in to our household.  He loves people, loves playing and boy can he jump for a little fellow.

These pictures show the life of Wally (now 8 months).

An Amazing Christmas

What a lunch! Full of Christmas Spirit.

What a lunch! Full of Christmas Spirit.

One lady said "the best lunch I've had, EVER!"

Sea la vie held its second FREE Christmas Day Lunch.  What an amazing day.  We hosted some 120 for lunch.  The spirit was great, we had loads of wonderful helpers and loads of items donated by people within the community.

The help we receive from the community – helpers and donations, is a real inspiration and what Christmas is all about.  Thank you.

To boot (an absolute bonus) we raised $2300 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

How great do the pictures look of people sharing Christmas lunch!

The Sea la vie team enjoying the Christmas spirit at a local restuarant a few days before Christmas.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed each others company outside of the normal Sea la vie walls.
